Growing Apples & Pears in Your Backyard

Have you ever wanted to grow apples or pears, but didn't know where to begin? Do you have an apple or pear tree in your yard, but aren’t sure if you are properly caring for it?  Are you wondering why you are not getting as much fruit as you expected?  Join UC Master Gardener Darlene DeRose for a presentation on the basics of growing and caring for apples and pears.

You will learn how to pick out the right tree for you, how to plant it and how to care for & maintain it over time.  Don't think you have space?  Darlene will also cover tips on growing trees in small spaces.

There will be time for questions and answers after the presentation.  No charge.

The San Ramon Library is at 100 Montgomery Street, at the corner of Bollinger Canyon and Marketplace. For more information, please call 925-973-2850 or visit ccclib.org/locations/sanramon.html for directions.
